Our company has been known as Amazing Decks since 2009, but our story as a custom deck builder began long before that.
Bill Wilson and Keith Fry began the 1990s fresh out of college and working in corporate sales. It didn’t take long for them to realize that they were really entrepreneurs, and in January 1991, they launched Dun-Draft, which focused on decks as well as windows, siding, doors, and other residential projects. By 1993 the partners knew the greatest opportunity lay in “backyard construction” as specialized custom deck builders.
During the initial years of the company, manufacturers of low-maintenance, prefab decks were still experimenting with their products, and Dun-Draft began devising its own unique methods of fastening decks and attaching railings. Because of Bill and Keith’s pioneering efforts in this work, many younger deck builders in NJ and PA are using the methods they helped to create.
As the mid-2000s approached, the decking industry was growing at a good pace. Dun-Draft was on a learning curve as the market began demanding more from deck builders in PA and NJ including larger decks, high-performing products like Trex, amenities such as outdoor kitchens, fireplaces, built-in pools and spas and much more. For the partners, it was like breaking new ground every day.
After changing the company name to Amazing Decks in 2009, Bill and Keith focused exclusively on outdoor living spaces, aware that the industry for custom deck contractors was growing and plenty of opportunity would continue to present itself. The partners began coming up with bolder and more creative designs that included curved decks, railings, and stairs. In 2010, they began using a 3D design program to assist in the creative process.
For over 30 years, our experienced team has been designing and building the most precise outdoor deck designs.
Our craftsmen are true professionals, delivering unsurpassed quality and expertise to create enjoyment that lasts.
We use innovative 3D software like Auto-Cad and Vectorworks to design your masterpiece and ensure perfection.
With hundreds of successful projects under their belts and an unmatched flair for elegant and serviceable design, Bill and Keith now find themselves among the most respected deck builders in NJ and PA. It’s proof that a sound idea, ethical business practices, and the determination to be the best really does pay off.
At Amazing Deck, we are proud to be recognized as TrexPro Platinum deck builders, which is the highest level of recognition available for independent decking contractors. This recognition is given to deck builders who demonstrated the ability and expertise to design and construct top of the line Trex outdoor living spaces ranging from the simplest to most complex projects.
Today, Amazing Decks is headquartered in Ambler, Pa., and serves customers in Pennsylvania and neighboring New Jersey. A lot has changed since Bill and Keith entered the work world, but one thing has not: their absolute commitment to outstanding workmanship and unparalleled customer service on every job.
